Rickman Manrick Bio
Derrick Ddungu, known professionally as Rickman Manrick, is a Ugandan artist and footballer born on December 25th in Bakuli, Kampala. He grew up in a football-loving family; his father was a player and coach for KCCA FC. Rickman completed his O-levels at Old Kampala Secondary School and his A-levels at St Juliana.
He moved to Sweden to play football for Sävedalen IF and worked as a student teacher at Kvarnbyskolean School for Children with Autism in Gothenburg. A knee injury in 2016 led him to explore music during his recovery. Returning to Uganda, he pursued hip hop and R&B music.
Rickman gained recognition for his unique style, earning nominations in the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards and winning Best LugaFlow/Rap Artist at the 2022 Zzina Galaxy awards. He was a controversial romantic relationship with Sheila Carol Gashumba from April 2021 until they broke up publicly in May 2024.
